Apply test patches before\nundertaking large areas to ensure good adhesion and lack of surface contamination. Wood staining should be\ncompleted before applying finish coats. Sand wood with the grain only. When surfaces have been sanded, dust\nand vacuum thoroughly to remove debris and then use a damp rag to remove dust before applying finish coats.\n(Note: tac rags may leave a residue that can interfere with flow and adhesion causing surface defects.) Wood\nsurface may be dampened to raise grain, sanded, and then wiped free of dust before applying stain or finish.\nMoisture content of wood should be below 12% for best results. To achieve a satin finish on wood, apply\nmultiple thin coats of Safecoat Polyureseal BP Gloss until the surface is completely sealed, followed by one\nfinal coat of Satin.\n\u003ch3\u003eApplication\u003c\/h3\u003e\nAlways have adequate ventilation. Intermix (boxing) all containers of the same sheen to ensure gloss\nuniformity before applying. Before using, mix coating thoroughly by gently stirring or rolling container to\navoid air bubbles. Be sure to stir product thoroughly every 20 minutes during application. Do not shake\ncontainer. Pour material to be used into another container before applying coating to avoid contaminating\nmain container. Apply as is, using a quality nylon brush, pad applicator, or unheated spray applicator.\nApply liberal coats, keeping a good wet edge and avoid overbrushing. In most cases, a minimum of 3 coats is\nrequired, depending on the surface. When spraying, use a .015 tip or smaller. Apply thin even coats when\nspraying rather than heavy coats which will tend to sag. If spray pattern begins to dryspray, reduce air\npressure and increase material flow to surface. Use a damp, dust free rag after sanding to remove dust\nparticles. Use aluminum oxide or silicon carbide sandpaper to sand between coats. For best results, this\nproduct should not be reduced. Use only during low or moderate humidity conditions. Applying this product\nover lightly dampened surfaces can assist the user in controlling the dry time. Smoother finishes are\nachieved when surfaces are damp during application. Note: these instructions are intended to be general only\nand not exhaustive. The applicator should determine which preparation and techniques are best suited to the\nspecific surface.\n\u003ch3\u003eClean Up\u003c\/h3\u003e\nClean tools and equipment while they are still wet with a solution of SafeChoice Super Clean and warm water.\n\u003ch3\u003eDrying Time\/Curing Time\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnder normal conditions, Safecoat Polyureseal BP dries to touch in one hour, is sandable after 2-4 hours\nand re-coatable after 4-8 hours. The product will continue to cure and become harder over time. Avoid\ntraffic for at least 24 hours after application. Normal conditions include a dry surface, access to\nfresh airflow, moderate humidity, and temperatures around 70 degrees F.
